Countdown to Hobey:

Cameron Cunningham

2016 | Texas | BOYS

Hendrickson High School | Ice Cats | BOYS

Cameron has been playing ice hockey since the age of 6 years old and has endured tremendous high’s and low’s.  During his youth teams that he has played on he has shown tremendous leadership through his on ice and off ice respect for this great game that we love.  Cameron has always played left wing and with his selfless attitude he has either lead the team in assists or has been in the top 3, he looks to pass before shooting. Cameron is also to considered an on ice coach as he has been a student of the game for as long as he has been playing and loves to share his knowledge & love for the game with his teammates.
Off the ice Cameron is involved in his community at a higher level than most teenager’s that I know.  He has been in the scouting program since he was a Cub Scout, with that comes numerous community projects that he has been a part of or leading.  Every year Cameron participates in the Alzheimer’s walk held in Austin and he has also gave his time and effort to the local food banks in support.   After Cameron graduates from High School he is planning on focusing on a career in the Physical Therapy field, which show’s his desire to help out people in need.  I am very proud not only to be able to watch this young man grow up to be a asset to our society in many ways but to able to call him my son is one of greatest privileges in live.  I know he will respect this award with great honor and I am very proud to nominate him for this award.
