Brynne Costa is an outstanding young woman who excels both in the classroom and on the athletic field. Brynne is a leader in the school both on and off the field. She displays incredible sportsmanship, is a tireless leader, and dependable. She is recognized as being the best female athlete in the school. She has the ability to play many sports at an extremely high level, lettering in Cross Country, Hockey, Outdoor Track and Lacrosse.
Academically, Brynne is ranked 3rd in her graduating class of 400 students. Her accolades include receiving the prestigious Yale Book Award, attaining recognition for Portuguese Academic Excellence with the highest average in Portuguese IV. Brynne is a member, and President of the National Honor Society. She is also involved with the School’s partners program.
As an athlete, Brynne was a 4 year member of the Girls’ Varsity Cross Country Team and serving as Team Captain for 3 years. While a member of the Cross Country Team she was awarded both Team MVP and Captain’s Award. Brynne was chosen Captain of her Cross Country team beginning in her sophomore year, she achieved that honor because of her hard work and dedication as a freshman.
Brynne was a member of the Varsity Girls’ Track Team for 2 years and was recognized as Team MVP, she also played a year of Lacrosse where she earned All Division Honors in 2015.
Brynne has been a four year member of the Boys’ Varsity Hockey Team. She has received a regular shift since her freshman year. Despite being an incredibly effective defensive forward, she has managed to amass over 75 points in her high school hockey career. Brynne currently serves as the Townies Hockey Team’s Captain and has received the Townie Award. She was featured in an article in the East Providence Post titled “She Can Skate With Anyone” and has been selected as the local “Player of the Week” as recognized by the same publication. Brynne was a key member of the 2013-2014 Townies State Championship Team as well as a member of the 2015-2016 Massachusetts Spitfires State Championship Team.
In the community, Brynne has worked as a volunteer for the Cox Road Race, and with the National Honor Society she has been involved with the Citizen’s Scholarship Foundation and other miscellaneous organizations.
Brynne has worked a part time job both junior and senior years.
Brynne is seeking to pursue a science based major such as Chemistry or Pharmacy at a New England based college.
