When I think of the words integrity, positive attitude, coachability, outstanding sportsmanship and community spirit…the 1 player on the Urbana Hawks that always come to mind is Zachary Bohrer. In the years I was able to coach Zachary, he has always worked hard on and off the ice and even though he wasn’t one of our elite players, he ALWAYS gave 100% and respected by all his teammates. He was named as one of our captains this year for a reason, his leadership skills that all coaches look for. At times, in the locker room, at practice or during off ice conditioning he almost felt like an assistant coach. If every student athlete had the drive, dedication and sportsmanship that Zachary displayed in his tenure, sports would be in a much better place. Zachary will go on and do great things in life after high school and hockey because of the skills that he displayed on a daily basis.
