Jeanette is one of our captains this year and was our returning leading scorer from the previous year. One week before the start of this season, Jeanette incurred a significant knee injury in her last high school soccer game. As a result, she has not been able to physically participate in any on or off ice team activities. However, that has not prevented her from attending EVERY game, practice, team bonding activities and community related team activities. She is a great leader and, while very difficult from an emotional perspective, she has been a true leader in  a different way this year with her mere presence and continued positive encouragement for the team as a whole. While she participates in other sports, hockey is her true passion and always has been! Last year Jeanette lost her best friend and care taker when her Mom lost her battle with cancer. It was amazing how this young lady dealt with such adversity and had a smile on her face almost everyday after that tragic loss in her life. I believe Jeanette embodies all of what this great award stands for and I am privileged to be able to nominate her as she is more than deserving!
