Jamie is a senior center on this years Reading Girl’s Varsity Hockey Team. Jamie’s leadership and character were instrumental in helping lead our team to the Division 1 MIAA State Championship on Sunday 3/15/15. Jamie is 3 sport athlete (field hockey, hockey, lax) , 2 sport captain, National Honor Society Student, and is committed to play field hockey at UMass Amherst next fall. The reasoning for Jamie’s nomination as if the above is not sufficient is that Jamie lost her mother Linda to cancer one week before our season began. She did not miss a game or practice the entire season and had the best year of her 4 year career. Jamie’s spirit and enthusiasm has been an inspiration to our team all year long. Jamie Melley is truly a person of the highest character.
