Ethan Laramee has played in our hockey program for 4 years. I recruited this young player because I had an instinct that he would be a 1st class player with both skill and integrity.

Well Ethan surpassed my expectations. He was one of the smallest players in our program and as time went on he grew not only in size but in skill and leadership. He was initially a player whom if a strong wind blew, he would be fly off like a kite. Now this young man is so solid on the ice and an impact player. He has developed an element of confidence without being cocky.

Ethan is not only a good hockey player on the ice. He is an exceptional student and a very humble person. He doesn’t take advantage of his strength on weaker players but tones it down so his opponent isn’t injured. The moment Ethan hits the ice on his shift, his first thought is how to set up his teammates. His unselfishness is incredible and sometimes to his detriment but in the end, it pays dividends as players want to play on his line.

It is with the spirit of Hobey Baker that I am nominating Ethan Laramee for this prestigious award.
