This is Nick’s first year as a Jr. Cane and from the first day I stepped onto the ice I could see the leadership Nick possessed. Nick exemplified the meaning of sportsmanship, dedication, hard work, and respect for his teammates, coaches, officials and the Jr. Canes organization. I took over the head coach duties a month into the season due to some unforeseen issues and I knew immediately Nick was someone I could count on to be the conduit for helping me get my message across to the team. His calm demeanor on the ice is a welcome addition especially at the U18 level when sometimes cooler heads or peer pressure don’t always prevail. Nick was voted the Captaincy by his teammates which is the highest sign of respect amongst his peers. Nick knows exactly who he is and sticks to his beliefs for the betterment of the individual, the team and the organization. Nick is a trusted friend who can be counted on for support no matter what the circumstance or situation you might be facing or going through. He is mature beyond his years and strives to be the best person he can no matter what adversity we as a team are going through or he can provide a laugh at the most opportune time to keep the mood loose! Nick is a coachable young man who comes to the rink or off ice events with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn, whether its to improve his game, or someone else’s. It’s been a pleasure to have coached Nick!
