4.39 GPA, National Honor Society, Church Usher, Senior Class vice president and majoring in Applied Mathematics. Matt has been the ultimate leader on the Canfield Hockey Team for the past 3 years. He works with all of the players on and off the ice year-round. Our hockey team has to be built from within the school district and that means teaching players that have never played the sport. Matt takes the time to work with these type players and he also has the ability to elevate the play of the more seasoned veteran players as well. He has been the most unselfish player that I have work with in the past 15 years of coaching. The last game of Matt’s senior season he spent all 3 periods of the game trying to get a senior teammate his first goal, never once did he think about scoring himself, which he could have done! Matt displays the qualities in a young man that makes coaches and parents proud to say that’s one of my boys
