This is my first year as the head coach of this player. It was not an easy transition for any of the players as myself and my staff were brought in last minute. Austin has handled this transition better than anyone could have. He ran the captains practices by himself before the season. He bought into a new system without even questioning it. He is one of only three seniors on the team and everyone looks up to him. He leads by example and when he has to say something to the team he is respectful but firm. He is the definition of a perfect captain. Austin is a great player and works with both the experienced and inexperienced players on my team. He helps me communicate with players when I need help getting through to them. He helps everyone in the weight room when they need it. He is an excellent student. He displays amazing sportsmanship before, during and after games. Austin is honestly the definition of this award.
