Jayce has been on the team for four years. He came on as a freshman mainly as a backup goaltender, but flowered into a strong starter his sophomore year. As a junior he shared time with another goaltender and never once complained about not starting every game. He supported the other goalie when he played, and Jayce played well when it was his turn to be in net. As a senior, he was the only goaltender on the team for much of the year, and he has flourished as our #1 netminder. He is an example to his teammates in that he puts the success of the team first in all cases. He is hard working, friendly, and self-reflective. When we added an 8th grade goalie to the team, Jayce took him under his proverbial wing and helped guide the young player to be a successful varsity athlete. We will certainly miss him next year both as a goalie and as a leader for the team.
