Tyler Beck is the name that came to mind right away when our coaching staff started discussing this award. Each year we present this award to the player on our team that may not be the biggest star, but is the heart and soul of our team. Tyler is the epitome of what the Hobey Baker Award stands for: – coachability, strength of character, integrity, commitment, teamwork, community building and outstanding sportsmanship. Tyler Beck is one of our senior captains and one of our top students! A perfect example of Tyler’s character is a few weeks back we had to fill a hole on defense. When I asked Tyler, who was a forward to fill in, he accepted the assignment right away without complaint. He has been there ever since and our team is stronger because of it. It is with great pride that I nominate Tyler Beck from Bishop Stang High School as our recipient of the Hobey Baker Character Award for the 2021-2022 season.
