Drew was an outstanding leader of our program the past two season. Drew always has a smile on his face and was able to keep things light hearted and fun. Drew was not only a great teammate but a very hard working young man both on and off the ice. Drew came to me this season and asked if he could change his number from #15 to #18. He explained to me that his uncle had wore #18 back when he played high school hockey for Hibbing in the early 90’s. Drew had said that his uncle had passed away and he would love to honor his memory by wearing the #18. I can tell you that Drew wore the #18 with pride and he continued his family legacy proud. Drew is everything you hope for in a player and what he didn’t have for size he made up for it with determination and passion. It was a honor for me to be able to spend the past two season with Drew and I know he will go on to wonderful things after high school.
