James Bartel | Raider | BOYS

James was a senior captain for the Roseville Raiders scoring 6 goals and adding 15 assists for 21 points on the season. Those numbers complete a 3-year varsity career with 9 goals and 19 assists for a total of 28 career points. James was an extremely consistent defenseman over his 3 years playing top minutes each night while also running the powerplay at the top and eating up plenty of time on the penalty kill units. James’s competitive spirit but also calm demeanor was what his teammates looked up to in him and he showed it day in and day out. Whether it was a lopsided loss or a nail-biting win James played the game hard and he played it with class. Off this ice, James was a leader without peers constantly being a passionate and encouraging voice in the locker room and in the classroom. His teacher describes him as a driven student that leads in a group project. He maintains a 3.8 GPA, was an all-conference selection for this season, and is the epitome of what it means to be a student-athlete that demonstrates high character on and off the ice.
