Chatfield Senior High School Varsity Ice Hockey Team | Chargers | BOYS

Matt has represented Chatfield Chargers Varsity Ice Hockey team as a “go toâ€_x009d_ player due to his leadership and dedication on the ice, on the bench and in the locker room for the last 4 seasons. He is a student of the game and leads by example being one of the most even keel players on the team; willing to put the team on his shoulders in tough situations with his calm demeanor and team focus on success. His character shows by typically being the first player on the ice for practice and the last to leave. His coachability extends to always asking coaches for other ways to improve his game as an individual and teammate. His focus and drive to meet his individual and team goals, willingness to do what is asked of him, and overall positive attitude is something every coach looks to use as an example for other players to raise their game and team focus as well. During the season Matt also dedicates his time and giving back to the game and community. His patience, dedication and love of the game has had a positive influence on the lives others around him and has helped grow Chatfield Hockey into one of the best player development organizations in the Denver, CO area. Matt’s character, drive, willingness and determination to strive for greatness and selflessness toward a team sport and growth of youths in the game allows me without reservation for this recommendation for The Hobey Baker High School Character Award. It was a please having Matt as part of this program and leaving a legacy to live by for his teammates for years to come.
