Ryan played on my teams over the past 4 years. It’s been a pleasure watching his growth as a player and a gentleman. In his calm collect manor he has battled through many hockey games proving to his teammates of his outstanding commitment. He also sets the bar for Student Athlete, by taking his academics seriously despite the rigorous hockey schedule, he managed to achieve stellar grades in college level courses. I have no doubt, Ryan Winkel is more than deserving for the Hobey Baker.
