Jared Garcia has been an outstanding member of the Assabet Valley ice hockey program for four years. He embodies all of the characteristics that the recipient of this award should possess. Jared has been totally committed to our program since he spent his first season on the junior varsity. It was during this year that his coaches noticed his important sense of teamwork and his outstanding practice of fair play. As his career continued, Jared’s ability to embrace and execute coaching instruction set him apart from many of his peers. Jared’s effectiveness on the ice this year was the culmination of years of hard work and determination. His consistent display of high character and integrity were certainly examples for all associated with our program. There is no question that Jared Garcia’s positive attitude, and outstanding work ethic, which were clearly evident under any circumstances, make him an excellent choice for the 2019 Hobey Baker High School Character Award.
