It is my distinct pleasure to recommend Alex Brooks for the prestigious Hobey Baker Character Award. Alex is an outstanding individual, teammate and most importantly, a leader; loaded with enthusiasm and full of self-motivation.
Alex is well liked and respected by his fellow classmates and teammates. His personality is friendly, warm, and confident. He is poised and very articulate. As a retired United States Air Force Officer, I have seen and experienced leadership on and off the battlefield; and Alex defines Leadership!
Under his leadership for the 2018-2019 hockey season; he was on the first-line, and is my ‘go-to guy’ for Penalty-Kills. In his first game of the young fall season he made an immediate impact on the ice and in the locker room! His High School Varsity Hockey teammates also recognize his leadership skills and infectious attitude, by naming him the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 Captain of the Pine Creek Varsity HS Hockey Team. Under his direction, the team went 16-2-1 in league play and won the school’s first play-off game ever!
BOTTOM LINE: Alex is an outstanding young man in every aspect. He is a proven leader with extremely strong leadership experience. It is with great confidence I recommend him for this year’s Hober Baker Character Award.
