This player was selected because of the way he handles himself on and off the ice. Oli is what is means to a PV Viking and everytime he stepped on the ice with that Viking jersey he went all out, and treated the game with the respect we all look for in a player. Oli has been a great mentor for the current and future Viking Varsity players. He showed up at EVERY single off ice workout and that includes the optional workouts. From the time the off season program begun to the last game of the season Oli was there for his team giving it all he has. One of the greatest traits about Oli is that he is always eager to learn more about how to improve his game. This season as a senior, he did an unbelievable job at grooming and caring about the freshman goalie that for the next 3 seasons will take Oli’s place in between the pipes. This shows that Oli doesn’t just care about the current season, but cares about the future of the club. This individual also took the time out of his schedule to help coach the middle school team and work with the players of the future. When a coach approaches him on some learning points he was always receptive. This young gentleman ALWAYS cared more about the logo on the front of the jersey and not the name on the back. Always hit the ice giving it all he has in the tank. These traits is why I know for a fact he will be extremely successful in life after high school hockey. I am proud to have coached this individual.
