Blake is a special type of person, he is the example of a person that all young adults should emulate. I’ve never met a kid quite like him. This is largely due to his mannerisms and kindness. He is a true gentleman that doesn’t use profanity, gossip or let others feel that they are not significant. He is a leader both on and off the ice. Blake is the largest most physically fit player on our team. He also the most gentle and kind. Blake will do any thing for the good of our team and he always puts the team before himself. In games Blake often plays wing, center and defense. Sometimes all in a single period. Blake is the only player that we can do this with. Blake isn’t a goal scorer, however due to his drive, strength and speed he is the most valuable player for us to have on the ice 26 minutes a game. Blake is our top forechecker. Blake will only use his physical presence to dominate our opponents when he is instructed to do so by our coaching staff. He has never thrown a single cheap shot, ever. I don’t know that I can say that about any player I’ve ever coached or played with. Blake is also a very religious young man and he attends Gaylord St. Mary’s High School as part of our Co-op. Blake has donated countless hours as a student hockey coach in our local youth hockey program, he is a blood donor and assistant to our local Red Cross, he volunteers at our local homeless shelter, and he has volunteered to help at our local religious music festival in Gaylord (Big Ticket). Blake is extremely strong and flexible he stands 6′ tall weighing 200 lbs. Academically he has a very impressive 3.9 GPA.
