Countdown to Hobey:

Ethan Thorpe

2019 | Connecticut | BOYS

Woodstock Academy | Centaurs | BOYS

Ethan started his high school playing career as a forward. In his Junior year Ethan went to the coaching staff and asked if he could make the shift to defense. It may the best decision that the coaches and Ethan could make. Ethan’s skill and talent are showcased every game with his smooth skating and heads up hockey style. Ethan is relied on in every possible aspect of the game. He plays even strength, power play and penalty kill, four on four, you name it he does it. Ethan has never looked for recognition in any way and even in his senior year does not wear a letter on his jersey. It has never been Ethan’s way to be the voacal leader instead he leads by example on and off the ice. It only seems fitting that after high school Ethan will go straight to work as a fire fighter. The quinticential role of selflessness. He will run into the burning buildings when everyone else is running out. Always the one can rely on there is no dought that he will fill this role the same as he does his skates a smile on his face every day and a team mate you know you can rely on. Ethan currently leads all Centaurs in time on ice and also leads the team in plus minus. He is calm in the face of danger and cool under pressure. Always the first player you look for to jump over the boards and take the ice.
