This athlete is being chosen for two reasons: Team Leadership and Academic Success.
She leads the team on and off the ice, the younger players look up to her and the older players look to her as a guide for how to play the game. She has earned the respect of her team mates by not only her hard play, but also because of her compassion and desire.
The academic side is clear, she is one of the top students on our team. She has always strived to excel in the classroom and be the best person she can be.
On a side note, she has been write qoutes of the day on the coaches whiteboard for 3 years now. Providing inspiration to the coaching staff for that days games.
I will truly miss having her as a member of our team next season. She is an awesome person and one that any coach would want to have.
