Kelly had only played 1 year of organized hockey before his freshman year of high school. His first couple years were very frustrating as he had to learn how to skate, pass, shoot ect while practicing with teammates who had been playing for year. His hard work, commitment to his team and the help he gives to younger teammates make him an easy choice for this award.
