Bennett’s leadership skills, good work ethic on and off the ice, and commitment to his craft make him a great candidate for a scholarship. Bennett’s leadership skills were evident from the beginning of this season. He is a natural leader for the team and quickly took charge when it was necessary. Bennett always has kind and encouraging words for his teammates, even during the toughest games. Bennett’s team has benefited greatly from his ability to lead by example. Bennett’s good work ethic is evident both on the ice during practices and games, as well as academically. Bennett chooses to work hard and try his best at every game and practice for the sake of his team and for the improvement of his own skills. I can always count on him during practice or games to bring his best to the ice. Bennett also works very hard in school and has been committed to gain acceptance into college. I am happy to see that he realizes the importance of school for his future. His commitment to higher education is something I do not see in all of my players and it truly shows his maturity. Bennett is truly committed to the sport of hockey. He works hard every day to get better. I do not have to worry about him completing workouts off the ice because he is usually the one I can use as an example. Bennett works hard in the gym in order to improve on the ice. He uses his time wisely and asks questions in order to get better. He is a very coachable player and always wants to get better. Bennett has been a pleasure to coach because he works so hard in everything he does. His ability to balance both a sport and school makes him a very well-rounded young man. Bennett is a great player and a great friend to his teammates. I believe that his hard work, commitment, positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and leadership skills make him a great candidate for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award.
Bennett is the son of Scott and Jennifer Terada of Matthews NC.
