Aaron, a high school Junior, was the only goalie on our very young and inexperienced varsity hockey team. He knew from day one he was going to face a season-long challenge. And he did. But never, NOT ONCE, did Aaron find fault with his teammates mistakes and miscues. He stood with them and told them, game after game, that they were all improving individually and as a team. Aaron’s positive attitude was contagious. The boys began to find ways to win. If you believe in yourself, if you believe in those around you, if you stay positive, if you never give up, if you face adversity with hard work and a smile, you have character. Aaron Angelo has all of these attributes and more. He is deserving if the Hobie Baker High School Character Award, and I will be proud to present it to him.
