Luke was selected for this award because of his daily commitment to being the best he could be on and off the ice. Luke exemplifies the character of Hopey Baker.

Luke’s nickname came true to the new staff very early in the season, and the Sled Dog never disappointed us as a staff, or his fellow players. To Luke, team success was always more important then his own individual success, and that showed many times throughout the year. One particular time comes to mind, in our last playoff game, Luke was a little under the weather, to make a long story short, his response to the staff was always, I’m good, I can go. This showed Luke commitment to his team, and the Denfeld Hunters.

From what we as a staff can remember, he was always last guy out of the locker room, he not only enjoys the game of hockey, but enjoyed the time spent with his teammates and coaches. He knew his last season who go by fast, and he wanted to spend every last minutes at the rink, and his effort on and off the ice, in the classroom or during skates the youth hockey, he gave 125%.

Luke would always say hi to us as a staff when he came into the locker room each day, and he would constantly comment how much he appreciated us for helping him become the best player and person he could be.

We as a staff are so proud to nominate Luke for this award, he no questions should be considered for the state award.
